Why did I write the story?
Two small children I know made me aware of their fears of death and heaven, by the questions they asked, after being told in a loving way by their parents after loss of loved ones. Their perception of Heaven as a place from where you were unable to return, was an unknown they had never uncounted and that that scared them. I wanted to take the fear from them. Whatever a persons perception of life after death is – it is still a place from which you do not return – it’s a blessing for children and adults alike to create a positive image of a happy joyful place in which to live in spirit form.
The story
Josie’s Heaven Awaits tells the story of Grandma and Riley finding their old family pet had died in her sleep. Grandma explained the death of Josie in a kind and loving way, creating an image of Heaven which was so real to Riley, he asked to visit her. As many children have invisible (to us) playmates, I have used Riley’s dream companion Resh, to grant his wish. It became a big adventure when Resh took them all to visit Josie in Heaven, the beautiful, happy home of her Spirit. Riley was comforted knowing Josie could visit him in his dreams whenever he thought of her as he went to sleep.
