Hi, I am Joan Derrick who loves a quiet life, living in a peaceful rural property in central inland Queensland in Australia. I am surrounded by a huge variety of Australia’s birds and mammals and love waking to the dawn chorus from the Kookaburra, Magpie and Butcherbirds, plus a number of the smaller varieties as well. It is not unusual to see Emu, Kangaroo and Dingo walking, or hopping past. I love organic gardening and collect Pelargoniums/Geraniums to most people- such amazing varieties and so beautiful! I love visiting my family, learning oldtime/ballroom dancing, camping and living in my small rural community.I hope at least one of my books will be the one book that children will remember for always!
