Needless to say, this feedback was not what I had been wanting, however there was good news to follow.

Dr Lowe had already received the Stranger Danger story prior to the difficulties experienced with Balboa Press, and it was her recommendation that this story be the first in the series. It fulfilled all her criteria for a problem needing solving; and for direct input from Sheikadee in saving Alec from stranger danger.

Alec meets Sheikadee was about Alec meeting his spirit guide, so in not having it as the first in the series, created a problem I had to solve. In the stranger danger story it was taken that Alec already knew Sheikadee. I had to re-write this story to introduce Sheikadee to the readers in a way that re-inforced the idea that Skeikadee was known to Alec.

After a lot of meditation and awaiting intuition, the story fell into place. The stranger danger story started life as Alec saved by Sheikadee, when it was assumed that the the readers had already met Sheikadee. I have now re-named the story Alec and Stranger Danger for marketing reasons. I feel the new title will be more familiar to potential buyers and will spark more interest in them holding the book to give it a second look. It also allows Sheikadee to be introduced in a more gentle way.

Alec and Stranger Danger has received Dr Lowe’s approval and has been submitted to Laila for illustration,  and Julie-Ann for development of the source file. Julie-Ann will also design the back cover of the book. This is probably one of the most important parts of the publishing process. It’s where the buyers interest is engaged, hopefully leading to a sale.

I have very limited funds and have been blessed to have a team now being built around me who are happy to work with my financial limitations; each happy to give me a time payment plan to ensure the forward momentum of the project.
Another professional who has joined my team is Susan O’Dea of Website Design Australia who had created this most professional site which can be enlarged at a later date, should the series warrant an expansion. Thankfully Susan is also happy to publish the site while I pay her on a payment plan. I feel very blessed to have such a caring, professional group of people on my team.
